BLUE COLLAR ACTION SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS:

• Provide membership training on how to lobby members of the legislature and other elected officials, including setting up workshops with experts.

• Work with union leadership on developing legislative agenda and grassroots strategies on passing bills.

• Work with the union leadership in identifying key legislators to sponsor bills for them, and tracking and identifying where they stand on their issues.

• Help unions set up an endorsement process to endorse candidates for public office.

• Help getting union members involved in political campaigns, and in the political process in their local districts.

• Provide issue research.

• Provide opposition research on opponents of the unions.

As the late U.S. House Speaker Tip O’Neil said, “All politics is local”.  Therefore, Blue Collar Action will strive to get all the members involved in local
campaigns, so that their individual legislators will know who they are!
